Volunteering Opportunities
MAWA
MAWA has the following needs and wants. If you can help us out with any of the following, please call MAWA.
- A FREE location to hold our various monthly community meetings which include adults and youth. Free space will be most appreciated at churches with large numbers of Africans among their worshippers; Middle and High Schools with a good number of African students. Our meetings cover issues that affect the African community, educate them on various issues including connecting them with their children’s school, legal workshops and financial literacy as well as make MAWA programs accessible to them and help connect them to other Twin City service providers.
- Knowledgeable volunteers to make presentations on topics related to financial literacy, immigration law, career counseling, etc. to the African Women’s Network and AGILE participants and teach our AGILE participants African song and dance, African story telling, crochet, knitting & sewing.
- Volunteers with expertise in event planning, ushers and other volunteers for MAWA’s Graduation Celebration, workshops or dinner and other community events.
- Donate prizes for our Girls program and items our adult participants can use.
